From the most diligent workers to the steadfast defenders, dwarves can be considered paragons of crafting and fortress building. With their fierce determination and forlorn countenance dwarves have made their mark on the face of Golarion, and to a lesser extent the River Kingdoms.

Dwarven history in this land begins with a Quest for Sky, a group of dwarves working their way from the subterranean darklands ever towards the sky. War after war, fighting with their most hated enemies goblins and orcs, and with themselves, they finally made it to the surface. Under the leadership of General Taargick, who declared himself king, the dwarven race established the Sky Citadels.

After several millennia, as well as civil wars and the establishing of nations, dwarves have become one of the most common races to be found in Golorain, and by extension the River Kingdoms.

Dwarves are very sturdy weighing much more than their size would seem due to their reinforced skeletons and musculature. Standing shorter than humans they are still very stocky, even more so than Half-Orcs. Dwarves take great pride in their appearance growing their hair long, as well as their beards. They make a point to festoon their beards with all manner of braids and trophies showing off important events in their lives.

Dwarves usually seem very reserved and conservative to other races, and tend to view those races as weak and even degenerate. Although, most dwarves are capable of overcoming prejudices for battle-tested companions and friends. Gems and gold tend to fuel a dwarven lust for adventure, leading them to wander from their famous Sky Citadels.
